Record prize money for EHF EURO 2026 success

The German Handball Federation (DHB) has increased the men’s national team bonuses ahead of EHF EURO 2026. Winning the title on 1 February would bring a total bonus of €575,000, rising to a maximum of €600,000 if 20+ players are used during the tournament. Reaching the final is worth €430,000, bronze €300,000, a semi-final place €180,000 (up to €190,000 with 19+ players), while 5th place brings €100,000.
There are also group-stage incentives: winning Group A is worth €50,000, while a perfect 6:0 record adds up to €75,000. DHB notes that a large part of the bonuses can be covered by EHF prize money — the European champion receives around €568,000. For comparison, last year’s World Championship title bonus would have been €475,000–€500,000.
