Kuzmanovski’s 15-Goal Masterclass levels Lazarov record

A big point in a 36:36 draw with Portugal in the second round of EHF EURO 2026 in Herning would not have been possible without an incredible performance from the captain of the North Macedonian national team, Filip Kuzmanovski.

The Eurofarm Pelister centre-left back produced a sensational display, scoring 15 goals from 17 attempts and, in doing so, putting the spotlight on himself ahead of Portugal’s biggest stars — the world’s fourth-ranked team — Martim and Kiko Costa.

Kuzmanovski leveled Kiril Lazarov record with 15 goals in one match at big events. Lazarov did it in 2009 at World Championship against South Korea.

After two rounds, North Macedonia have one point, but they still have a chance to reach the main round if results go their way and their overall goal difference works in their favour compared to the Portuguese.
