Francisco Costa on Fire: 39 Goals in Four Games; Palasics Shines Between the Posts

Four matches are behind the teams at EHF EURO 2026, and two names have stood out on the individual leaderboards.
Brilliant 20-year-old Portugal right back Francisco Costa is the tournament’s top scorer so far, averaging almost ten goals per game. The left-handed Sporting star has netted 39 goals, five more than fellow right back Mathias Gidsel (34), and six more than Slovenia’s leading scorer Domen Makuc (33).
As for goalkeepers, Krzysztof Palasics has been outstanding for Hungary, even though his national team has not been performing at its best. The MT Melsungen keeper has recorded 49 saves, eight more than Switzerland’s Nikola Portner, while Iceland’s No. 1 Viktor Gísli Hallgrímsson has 38.
