Ivan Martinović Ankle Scare: MRI Clear, But Captain Still Sidelined

It remains the question of all questions for the reigning world silver medallists: will Croatia captain Ivan Martinović be able to continue playing at EHF EURO 2026?
The 28-year-old right back picked up an injury in the second half of the match against Iceland. The injured ankle prevented him from returning to the court, and an MRI scan was carried out the morning after the game, which did not show any more serious injury.
All in all, Martinović missed the evening training session ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Switzerland (18:00), further increasing doubts that the Veszprém right back will be able to return quickly.
More information is expected from the Croatian Handball Federation.
