IHF sets pots for World Championship 2027 in Germany

The International Handball Federation (IHF) has published the seeding pots for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship in Germany.

Pot 1:
Denmark, Germany, Croatia, Iceland, Portugal, Sweden, Egypt, Argentina

Pot 2:
France/Czechia, (Finland/Montenegro), Slovenia, (Türkiye/Romania), Norway, (Lithuania/Serbia), Hungary, (Georgia/Israel), Spain, Switzerland/Italy, (Bosnia & Herzegovina/Kosovo), Faroe Islands, (Ukraine/Slovakia), North Macedonia

Pot 3:
(Netherlands) / (Greece/Belgium), (Latvia/Poland), Austria, Brazil, Bahrain, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Chile, North America & Caribbean representative

Pot 4:
Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, Algeria, Angola, Uruguay, Wild Card 1, Wild Card 2

Draw date: The draw for the preliminary round of the 2027 World Championship will take place on 10 June 2026 in Munich (Hofbräuhaus).
