Dubrovnik Handball Camp 2026: Handball, top coaches and an unforgettable summer experience on the Adriatic

Dubrovnik will host the second edition of the Dubrovnik Handball Camp from 12 to 19 July 2026, an international handball camp for boys and girls aged 10 to 18. In a unique combination of sport, education and Mediterranean surroundings, young handball players will have the opportunity to improve their skills, train in excellent conditions and gain an experience that goes far beyond the court.
The camp programme is based on intensive technical and tactical work, the development of individual abilities, a better understanding of the game and decision-making in real match situations. Participants will have two training sessions per day, working with coaches and internationally renowned handball figures. Among the promoters and members of the camp team are Xavier Pascual, Ivan Martinović, Blaž Janc, Greta Marton and Alex Pascual Garcia, while the professional programme will be led by coaches dedicated to the development of young players.
“Launching a handball camp in Dubrovnik is a project focused on the systematic development of young handball players through high-quality professional work, education and sporting improvement in a stimulating and professional environment. The aim of the camp is to give participants the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and experience through work with qualified coaches, with an emphasis on developing technical, tactical and motor skills, as well as strengthening team spirit, discipline and sporting values,” says Goran Tolić, former handball player and one of the project leaders, adding:
“We expect the camp to become a recognizable platform for the development of young athletes and the exchange of sporting experiences, while also contributing to the popularization of handball among children and youth. We also believe that the camp will further promote Dubrovnik as a destination that successfully combines sport, education and an active lifestyle, and that in the long term it will contribute to the development of handball at both regional and international levels.”
Training sessions will be held at the Gospino Polje Sports Hall, one of Dubrovnik’s well-known sports venues, featuring a main hall with a capacity of around 1,500 seats, additional halls, a gym and supporting infrastructure suitable for high-quality work and athlete accommodation.
A special value of the Dubrovnik Handball Camp lies in the overall experience participants receive off the court. The programme includes accommodation at the Dubrovnik Student Dormitory, full board during the seven-day stay, medical care, a complete sports equipment package, as well as organized activities such as a tour of the Dubrovnik city walls, a boat trip to Lokrum and an excursion to Lopud.
The camp is open to individual applications as well as complete teams, and participants will be divided into four age categories:
2014–2016, 2012–2013, 2010–2011 and 2008–2009. Organizers emphasize a safe, encouraging and disciplined environment, with clearly defined rules for both the stay and the work programme throughout the camp.
Dubrovnik Handball Camp 2026 offers young handball players the opportunity to spend their summer in a top-level sporting environment, work with experienced professionals, meet peers from different backgrounds and create lasting memories in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
