Blow for Gummersbach: Nikola Roganović sidelined for five to six weeks!

One of Europe’s most exciting young handball talents, Nikola Roganović, has made a sensational start to his debut season in the German Bundesliga. The young Swedish international with Balkan roots quickly established himself as one of VfL Gummersbach’s key players, producing outstanding performances and emerging among the leading scorers in arguably the world’s strongest domestic league.
Roganović particularly impressed against MT Melsungen, scoring an incredible 15 goals, before delivering another brilliant performance with 12 goals in Gummersbach’s impressive 31:30 victory over SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
However, his remarkable start to life in the Bundesliga has now been interrupted by injury.
VfL Gummersbach have officially announced that Roganović has suffered a stress fracture in his metatarsal bone and is expected to be sidelined for five to six weeks.
The injury represents a major setback for head coach Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson, as the talented backcourt player is currently the team’s leading scorer.
Gummersbach are also dealing with additional injury concerns. Kay Smits has been struggling with back problems, while Montenegrin international Miloš Vujović is unavailable due to muscular issues. Both missed the Bundesliga encounter against FRISCH AUF! Göppingen.
Roganović now faces several weeks of recovery after an impressive opening to the season that has already demonstrated his enormous potential to become one of European handball’s next major stars.
