Andreas Palicka to Fuchse Berlin via HSG Wetzlar

For the new season, Füchse Berlin have now found their goalkeeper pairing. Joining homegrown talent Lasse Ludwig will be veteran Andreas Palicka. The 39-year-old Swede has already played many HBL matches and has also gained international experience. He will finish season in HSG Wetzlar and then  join team from the capital.

After Dejan Milosavljev announced his departure to Kielce, those in charge at Füchse Berlin set out to find a replacement. They have now found one from the very top shelf: 351 games in the DAIKIN Handball-Bundesliga for THW Kiel and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, celebrating seven German championship titles along the way, plus four DHB Cup wins. Andreas Palicka has already seen a lot and enjoyed plenty of success in his handball career—something he intends to continue in the German capital from this summer onward. Füchse Berlin have signed the Swede for one year; he will wear his familiar jersey number 12. In the 2026/27 season, the champions’ goalkeeper duo will be Andreas Palicka and Lasse Ludwig. Ludwig, a former “Jungfuchs” player, can learn from his soon-to-be colleague’s experience and take further steps in his development.

Palicka most recently played for Kolstad Håndball in Norway. Abroad, Palicka has also played for Redbergslids SK (Sweden), Aalborg Håndbold (Denmark), and Paris Saint-Germain (France). With Kiel, Palicka won the EHF Champions League twice.

Managing Director Bob Hanning:
“We are very happy that we were able to bring Andreas Palicka to Füchse. The talks with him were always a great pleasure. Feeling his passion and his determination was impressive. The combination with Lasse Ludwig will help us continue on the path we’ve taken at Füchse. Putting such an experienced goalkeeper alongside Lasse will ensure that we will have one of the strongest goalkeeper duos in the league.”

Head coach and sporting director Nicolej Krickau:
“This is a very good solution for us. It’s great that Andreas Palicka has agreed—he is a goalkeeper with enormous experience. I’m sure that, working together with Lasse Ludwig, he will play an important role. He brings a lot of clarity, and his level in the biggest moments speaks for itself. It’s good that we now have certainty in the goalkeeper position.”

Andreas Palicka:
“I’m very happy that it worked out and that I can play for Füchse from the summer. The project here in Berlin is a great one, and I’m looking forward to being part of it. I’m also looking forward to working with Lasse Ludwig. He is one of the biggest talents in our position, he has developed strongly, and it will be great to form the goalkeeper duo together with him.”
