Everyone was waiting with euphoria the upcoming and already arranged Balkan Regional League. But the latest news coming from the official sponsors are disappointing. Sparkasse Bank, the group that was supposed to sponsor the competition, have announced to the federations that they will no longer be the sponsors, because the supposed costs of the regional league have tripled, and have surpassed the amount that was concluded when the initial agreement was made.
They have expressed their disappointing with the new requests coming from the Croatian clubs RK Zagreb and Nexe, which have asked for much more money than what was initially agreed, and that made the sponsorship impossible, as the bank is unable to pay that much for the competition. However, they have expressed their good will to participate in any other possible competition that will be organized on regional basis.
