Bella Gullden after two matches in Stockholm: We have to start running

Isabelle Gullden is the biggest hope of the home team at the Women’s EHF EURO 2016 in Sweden. The Swedish girls lost their second match against Slovenia 23:25, and now will be under pressure in the last match of Preliminary Round – clash with Serbia on Thursday, 20.45.

Playmaker of CSM Bucharest analized bad night against outsiders from Slovenia…

  • I don’t think that we underestimated them because they played good. Slovenia were good and we had problems. We played good defense, but we didn’t run so much. If we want to beat Serbia, we have to start running.

How do you feel to play three months after Rio? It looks that most of the teams from Olympic Games have lack of form…

  • Of course, it is tough. You are mentaly tired. But I think that I have good last months. I am OK with energy, playing at home, it is pleasure. I have some problems, it is hard, but we play home and that is our huge motivation.

At the first match you were supported by sold-out Hovet Arena, much more than in the second match against Slovenia. What happened with the fans?

  • My opinion is that is to late for the matches (20.45). Families goes on this kind of matches, and when kids have schools tomorrow morning, it is hard to organize everything, to stay longer in the middle of the week. It is problem, but I hope, we will have more fans against Serbia.

You played three times against Serbia, and three times you drew…

  • Yes, always, like against Netherlands. They are without Damnjanovic and some other players, but they are good, playing as a team. They are mix of strong girls and technical players. It is hard to read them in attack. As I said for the match against Slovenia, we need to start running – concluded Bella Gullden.
