Champions League: Veszprem “surprises” Kielce!

The 2nd day of the Champions League games saw one small surprise. Veszprem beat Kielce in Poland with 29:25, while in the most even game there was an even result, Chekhovski drew with Fuchse Berlin 31:31. Kiel, Atletico Madrid and Montpellier justified their favorites roles and won.

Kielce 25:29 Veszprem: Veszprem dominated the first half winning it 17:10. Kielce won the 2nd half, but it wasnt enough to annulate Veszprem’s huge lead from the first half, and Veszprem justly takes the points back to Hungary.

Chekhovski Medvedi 31:31 Fuchse Berlin: In the most interesting game this round, Fuchse and Medvedi both took 1 point from this game, and it seems like the most real epilogue, as both teams showed strong play and had their halfs, Fuchse winning the 1st, Medvedi winning the 2nd.

Bjerringbro-Silkeborg 27:30 BM Atletico Madrid: For a moment the handball fans in Denmark thought a surprise could happen as Bjerringbro went on a break with a one goal lead, 16:15, but in the 2nd half Atletico showed their power and won the half with 15:11, thus winning the game too.

Montpellier 38:34 Ademar Leon: The highest scoring game this matchday, 72 goals in total, it seems like defence wasn’t really played, and the goalkeepers didn’t have their day. Montpellier justified their favorite role at home and beat Ademar.

Szeged 26:38 THW Kiel: Kiel is not dominating only the domestic championship, but their start in the Champions League is more than impressive. A superb sweep of Pick Szeged in Hungary with 38:26, they show their determination to participate at the Final Four this season.
