Croatian handball Federation made decision to sack NT coach Zeljko Babic and coordinator for men’s handball, Ivano Balic only two days after the end of World Championship 2017 in France, where Croats won fourth place!
With them, another legend of Croatian handball, Babic’s assistant in coaching staff, Petar Metlicic, will also leave his position.
“We have problem in leadership of the team and we didn’t see any progress since EHF EURO 2016 in Poland. I wouldn’t speak about strictly handball things”, said Croatian Handball Federation president, Tomislav Grahovac.
“We didn’t set quarter-final as our goal. Someone else put that in media. One of the reason for decision is lack of ambitions. We are always going for medals”, concluded Grahovac.
Special commission will talk with Babic’s successors and will take decision in one month period.
