CS Dinamo Bucharest strong start, Cupara: Ambitions are big
Dinamo Bucharest returned to the EHF Champions League in the best possible way. In the first round, the Danish debutant Fredericia was defeated 37:28, and thus the road to the knockout phase was laid out, in which all those who find themselves in the first six of the eight places in the group will play again this year.
The departure of Xavi Pascual to Vesprem obviously did not disrupt the goals and ambitions of the best team in Romania, which confirmed it for the umpteenth time on the domestic stage already at the start of the new season. David Davis’ team won the Super Cup, had a good start in the championship, and the form of Serbian goalkeeper Vladimir Cupara played a significant role in all of this:
- A great start to the season. We did what the goals were and what each of us expected. We won the Super Cup where we beat Constanta and Baia Mare, and then in the first round of the championship we defeated Constanta on their court. It is already a serious step towards defending the title, now it’s all a matter of approaching the matches in the domestic championship. We have to take every game seriously, and we have a quality rotation that can do everything in this demanding rhythm of playing games – says Cupara for Balkan-Handball.com and comments on the start in the EHF Champions League, where in the second round they already have a visit to Wisla Plock:
- A very important victory from every aspect, no matter who against, we opened a nice competition. The season is just starting, there is a lot to do. The ambitions of the club, both long-term and short-term, are great. We go into every game to win. That’s a realistic view of things and I believe that this club will only grow month by month, year by year. I am happy to be a part of this story – concludes the Serbian NT goalie.
