Dominik Kuzmanović set for Magdeburg in 2026: Croatian keeper to partner Matej Mandić

Croatian international Dominik Kuzmanović will strengthen SC Magdeburg from the summer of 2026.
An agreement between the VfL Gummersbach goalkeeper and the world’s top team at the moment has been reached to the satisfaction of both sides, and Kuzmanović will form a pairing next season with his national-team colleague Matej Mandić, who arrived at GETEC Arena last autumn as a replacement for the suspended Nikola Portner.
The 23-year-old hero of Croatia’s silver-medal run at the 2025 World Championship is playing his second German Bundesliga season with VfL Gummersbach, where he will be replaced by Spaniard Biosca. Before moving to Germany, the popular “Kuzma” made his professional breakthrough with Nexe from Našice, reaching the EHF European League Final4 in 2022.
SC Magdeburg’s current No. 1, Sergey Hernández, will replace Emil Nielsen at FC Barcelona next season, while Portner will seek a new professional challenge with Hungary’s Pick Szeged.
SC Magdeburg continues to show strong trust in young Croatian goalkeepers on long-term contracts.
