EHF CL: Home wins for Metalurg and La Rioja

Two matches were played on Saturday in the lower part of the VELUX EHF Champions League. Macedonian third team in the last season, RK Metalurg Skopje beat Norwegian Elverum 22:19 (10:12) for their second win in the new edition of the European elite competition. Lino Červar’s team who is totally reconstructed during the last summer transfer window, showed capability to play against rivals on EHF CL level for a joy of fans army.

Austrian right back Janko Bozovic netted six goals for the winners, while Serbian playmaker Luka Mitrović had the same score among Norwegians, who suffered second defeat in a row after surprising start in Schaffhausen.

Spanish vice-champions Naturhouse La Rioja beat Slovakian Tatran Presov 37:29 (22:15).  Angel Perez Fernandez scored 14 goals for the winners in one of the most brilliant nights of career, while Antl and Sadovyi tried to save their team with eight goals each…
