European Handball Federation announced positive conclusion of the problematic schedule for German SG Flensburg who planned to play two matches in same day at the start of November.
“After a very positive approach and a joint effort of all parties involved a solution could finally be worked out to avoid a playing dates collision of SG Flensburg Handewitt in the VELUX EHF Champions League and the German DKB Bundesliga. The Round 2 match of SG Flensburg-Handewitt at Bjerringbro-Silkeborg will take place as planned, while the bundesliga game of Flensburg vs Leipzig is removed from the schedule of Sunday 2 October to a new date in the week from 30 November to 4 December 2016, where Flensburg was supposed to play against Kadetten in the Champions League. Therefore and in order to enable this solution, the match of Round 9 of the VELUX EHF Champions League (SG Flensburg/Handewitt vs. Kadetten Schaffhausen) needs to be rescheduled from Round 9 to the week of Round 14 in March 2017 and will be played during that particular week on Wednesday, 8 March 2017 in Flensburg – it is written in EHF announcement.
