FC Barcelona win Norden Cup by beating THW Kiel!

The EHF Champions League title holders FC Barcelona won the first tournament in the new season. The value of the pre-season success is much bigger if you know the fact that Xavi Pascual boys beat THW Kiel 21:16 (9:7) in Norden Cup on their home soil – in front of 8.200 fans at Sparkassen Arena!

Norden Cup was triangle between FC Barcelona, THW Kiel and new member of DKB Bundesliga – SC DHfK Leipzig.

FC Barcelona beat Leipzig 31:21, while THW Kiel had some difficulties to overcome the newcomer in elite – 24:21.

The top scorer of the tournament was Kiril Lazarov with 11 goals, his team-mate from Barca, Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson was best player, while new THW Kiel goalie Nikolas Katsigiannis was best between the posts.
