Group C and D: Spain wins the Derby – Croatia beats Iceland

Four very interesting matches have been seen in the Day 2 of the EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia. In the big clash in Novi Sad, Spain won against France 29:26 with outstanding performance of Xavier Hombrados, who had important 15 saves. On the other side, Fernandez scored 7 goals, but without help of weak Karabatic and Omeyer, France wasn’t team ready to win.

In the second match, Russia and Hungary played 31:31,which suggest that battle for the third place and the Main Round will be very interesting.

In group D, Slovenia led 21:16 in 40th minute against Norway, but on the end, Scandinavians led by fantastic Erevik (20 saves) took two points – 28:27. In the second derby match, Mirko Alilovic was outstanding with 16 saves for Croatian win over Iceland – 31:28.
