Gudmundur Gudmundsson to leave RNL and replace Wilbek as Danish head-coach?

Handball story of the week coming from Germany and Denmark where media speculate about the new head-coach of Danish national team. That has to be Icelandic coach Gudmundur Gudmundsson, who is working at German Rhein Neckar Lowen since September 2010. Scandinavian media wrote today that Ullrik Wilbek will announce next week the person who will replace him on the Danish bench after he finish his job at EHF EURO 2014 in front of home fans next January.

That will be Icelandic coach who won the silver medal with his country on Olympic Games 200 in Beijing, but also bronze European medal in Austria 2010.

For the official confirmation Danish handball fans have to wait until next Monday.

Ulrik Wilbek will become of new sports director of the Danish Handball Federation.

    I think it was the time for changing in the Danish National Team. Ullrik Wilbek has been a too long time in the head and his work already had touched the end in my opinion. Gudmundur Gudmundsson will be the fresh air that need Hansen and his boys to win their european Championship…….Good luck !
