HBC Nantes kept question about EHF CL group winner open by beating RK Vardar Skopje 27:26 (18:12) in front of 4.600 home fans. Cyril Doumulin and his team-mates were fast and furios in the opening 40 minutes of the clash with the VELUX EHF Champions league champions. Domestic team had 21:13 after 34 minutes of the match, but at the end, Thierry Anti’s players had to save win by keeping the ball in the last 40 seconds until the final buzzer.
Eduardo Gurbindo was TOP scorer in the winning team with eight goals, while Timur Dibirov netted six at RK Vardar Skopje.
The Macedonian champions had everything in their own hands, as they need only a point in the last home match against Orlen Wisla Plock next weekend.
