Henrik Molgaard: We have 50 players who can play for Denmark – This team can do everything!

It was good night for Danish national team in Munchen, where they beat Czech Republic 23:14 (9:9). However, it wasn’t easy to outplay tactically very strong rivals, who were in balance in the first 30 minutes, but in the second half, one man has absolutely outstanding performance. Emil Nielsen, once again, showed his magnificent level of handball with 72% of saves (13/18) in the second half after he came in to replace Niklas Landin (two saves).
- It was difficult opening game for us, especially first half. We knew that we will face very well organized team with amazing goalkeeper and very strong defense. We had problems in the first half. Second half we had amazing performance by our goalkeeper. It is ridicilous, it was his first game on European Championship, so I am very satisfied – praised defensive specialist, Henrik Molgaard his team-mate Nielsen and added:
- He did what he already did to Netherlands few days ago. I was watching that from sideline, I was amazed, but to do it today on your debut it was extraordinary.
Last year Pytlick, now Nielsen. How many great new faces Denmark has in backup…
- We have at least 50 guys at home who can play this tournament. We have amazing youth now at home and they just keep coming. It’s not that easy to be 39 in the moment and watching all this young guy running and doing this things. I am just enjoying to be a part of this. Ambitious are highest possible as three-times world champions. We didn’t win it for 12 years and we know that EURO is the most difficult tournament to win, but with this team we can do everything – said Molgaard.
