Hungary: MKB Veszprem easily past Pick Szeged!

In the Hungarian derby this morning, MKB Veszprem showed that they are still the best in Hungary and revenged for the defeat against Pick Szeged in the first part of the season, and won the game with 33:28 (17:10) . Now their lead on table is 5 points ahead of Pick Szeged, and defending the title again seems very probable, contemplating the quality of the team compared to the others.

In the packed Veszprem Arena, MKB Veszprem started the first half strong, immediately making small advantage which only grew more until the end of the first half. Led by Marko Vujin, Renato Sulic and Császár Gábor, Veszprem finished the first half with 17:10. However, Pick Szeged managed to get to a strong start in the 2nd half and after 15 mins Veszprem had only +3, 25:22, and in 50th min 28:25. That was the closest Pick Szeged could get, as Veszprem dominated the last 10 minutes of the game, and in the end won the game with 33:28 (17:10).

Marko Vujin was outstanding for Veszprem scoring 12 goals, while Pick Szeged, as usual, were led by their topscorer Frantisek Sulc who had 7 goals from 14 shots (50%), while Tatai Peter was on the level in the 2nd half on the goal for Szeged, making 7 saves from 22 shots (32%).
