HUNGARY: New easy win for Pick Szeged

Hungarian silver medalist Pick Szeged played their second match again on home ground against Cegléd. The first ten minutes saw very few goals as Pick’s defence was able to stop the guests’ attacks, but in the meantime Pick players made the ‘usual’ disappointing mistakes in attack so the result was very tight. Home team’s coach Juan Carlos Pastor tried several substitutions, with little effect, as the score was still even in the 25th minute! (11-11). The biggest difference was reached at the very end of the first half thanks to powerful play by Larholm and Zubai (16-12).
Pick shifted to higher gear at the start of the second half. Promising Spanish playmaker Niko Mindegia beat Cegléd’s defence at incredible speeds several times and quickly scored three goals, while Zubai continued shooting effectively from pivot position. Larholm was still very confident from the 9 meters, Mikler produced some great saves and Pick gained a 10-goal lead by the 46th minute (28-18). By the end of the match the difference only got bigger and due to much better performance in the second half Pick Szeged gained two more points in the Hungarian League.
 Pick Szeged-Cegléd 34-22 (16-12)
Best scorers: Larholm 11 (3), Zubai 6 / Takács 8 (4)
