League leaders Pick Szeged visited newcomers Ceglédi KKSE in round 14. of the Hungarian Championship. The home team was considered to be dangerous with three of their players being among the Top 10 goalscorers, including japanese playmaker Atsushi Mekaru who arrived after the start of this season.
Serbian EC silver-medalist Rajko Prodanovic was fit to play again so the only player missing from Szeged was defence specialist József Czina.
Returning Rajko Prodanovic (7 goals) and young hungarian talent Gábor Ancsin (8 goals) lead Szeged to a 38-29 victory against the valiant home team whose best scorers were Atsushi (8) and Balázs Bíró (6). Local spectators showed their appreciation with a roar of applause to both teams.
Pick Szeged’s next opponent is going to be Váci KSE in round 4. of the Hungarian Cup. The club is organizing a charity event before the start of the match about which yo can read in our coming article.
