The story of the New Year’s Eve was the end of professional career of legendary Croatian playmaker Ivano Balić and his comeback to Croatia in a role of manager of the national handball federation responsible for the coordination with the coaches of the national teams. The vice-president of the Croatian Handball Federation, Zoran Gobac, stated about this idea for Index.hr, while HSG Wetzlar Bjorn Seipp called this info as “speculation, nothing more than that” and expressed club’s plan to negotiate with Ivano and his manager about extension of the deal.
