Filip Jicha, the THW Kiel player, again got the honour to be named handball player of the year in his home country, the Czech Republic. Probably the most important handball figure in the Czech Republic in the past few years, he also helped his country qualify for the European Championship in Serbia 2012 with his majestic plays in the qualifications.
Apart from this, his other honors include topscorer of the European Championship in Austria, and Player of the Year in Germany in 2009 and 2010. As for his home country, this is the 4th time he was named Handball Player of the Year.
