Jovica Nikolic to join RK Zagreb

Serbian international Jovica Nikolić will wear the shirt of RK Zagreb from next season.

The 24-year-old right back had also attracted interest from several other ambitious clubs in the region, but chose the Croatian champions, where he will replace fellow national team player Luka Lovre Klarica, who will join Polish side Kielce this summer.

After a short spell in Kuwait, Nikolić returned to Europe and signed a contract with Hungarian club Pick Szeged until the end of the season.

The left-handed shooter earned full recognition in the jersey of Vojvodina Novi Sad, becoming one of the youngest first-team players in the club’s history. He also had a stint in the Bundesliga with Wetzlar, but an injury prevented him from making a more significant impact.

The club from Croatia’s capital is going through one of its worst seasons in the past decade, but still remains the main favourite to win trophies on the domestic scene.
