The Hungarian TOP team Győri Audi ETO KC will keep two goalkeepers from this season despite signing of Laura Glauser and Silje Solberg for the upcoming one.
Norwegian goalie Kari Aalvik Grimsbo will end her career this summer, while the contract with Amandine Leynaud and Éva Kiss has been at the end.
However, club’s decision is to keep both of them.
- Éva is a fantastic sportsman and every athlete can learn a lot from her. Her humility for work and his performance can set an example for future generations. After signing a long-term contract for four years, Eva will remain a member of the ETO family from next year, but will complete her professional career this summer. Our club fully supports Éva Kiss, who, from next year, enrolling in a coaching and goalkeeping couse, will help in a long-term period in Győr for young players ”said dr. Csaba Bartha, President of the club.
“I had to make a very difficult decision, but I decided to end my active career by the end of the season. I thought a lot about the sequel, but I think as it happened is the best for me now. I am happy to stay in Győr, the club will count on me in the future as well, and I will be dealing with young goalkeepers. At the same time, I started to get coaching licenses. In addition to my higher education, I also acquired a secondary coaching qualification, as I would like to contribute to ensure the outstanding goalkeeping traditions of Hungarian handball. But there are many important games ahead of us this season, and I want to do everything I can to make ETO successful, and I want to deal with everything else after the season, ”said Éva Kiss.
Amandine Leynaud will remain in Gyor. The world-class goalkeeper can also try a new role from summer. “ Two new goalkeepers, Laura Glauser and Silje Solberg are joining the team, but we also want to make sure the integration of the two new players as easy as possible for this key post. We’ve extended the contract of Amandine Leynaud, so we’ll start next season with three goalkeepers. But Amandine will be more than a goalkeeper, as she will also become a member of the coaching staff as a goalkeeper, and she has the experience in this position so far as she is the goalkeeper trainer for the French junior women’s handball team for a long time. ” Csaba Bartha.
“I am delighted to stay in Győr, as everything is here for high-quality and successful work. I was happy to be able to get my new role, not just as a goalkeeper, but as a coach. Silje and Laura are fantastic goalkeepers, it will be a pleasure working with them. Of course, I don’t want to miss the games, but this year, next year, the key of goalkeepers’ work will be to help the team perform well, doesn’t matter who is showing a defense, ”Amandine Leynaud concluded.
