Slovenian line-player and defensive giant, Matej Gaber will stay in Szeged until 2024 according to the new deal with Hungarian vice-champions MOL Pick Szeged.
- Our goal is also to keep the team as an important nucleus for development. He’s a great player, a great teammate, and a great man, and all three of these things are necessary for us to extend with one player. I’d like to give our fans good news, as our club has extended Matej Gaber’s contract until 2024 – said chairman Dr. Peter Erno Szucs.
The 28-years old Slovenian came to Szeged in 2016. Since then, he is a vital part of the Juan Carlos Pastor’s plans:
- The team is like my family. We understand each other very well. It’s a plus that made it really easy to make a decision, to stay. Already last year I vowed to start learning Hungarian. Zara, my little daughter is slowly going to school, so I’ll have to help her, so I can’t postpone it anymore. We have been living here for at least 4 years, so my wife and I are enrolled in a language class. I’m happy to be a member of the club for four more years. Together we are called to great things, I can’t wait to continue – said Gaber.
