“MUST SEE” FOR GOALKEEPERS: Makarska’s fourth GK camp with new standards!

Everything is ready for the start of the fourth international goalkeepers camp in Makarska and Tucepa (18-24 June). The manifestation which became a “must see” for goalkeepers around Europe, will this year as well gather famous goalkeeping names in the roles of demonstrators and coaches on one side, and incoming talents, seniors, juniors, youths – on the other side. Seven days of work, trainings, consultations and exchanging experience is what the goalkeepers are to do.

The coaching cadre remains basically the same as in the previous years. Those will be the legendary Mirko Basic, and a long line of brilliant goalkeepers such as Nikola Blazicko, Marina Sego, Nebojsa Grahovac, but also those who work as coaches in the high-profile clubs, Vlatko Djonovic and Vladimir Vujovic. As guests-coachs, from Finland and Sweden come Fikret Handan and Vanja Radic, and the whole work as in the previous years, will be coordinated by the professor at the Split university, Dr Nenad Rogulj.

A special lecturing during the Camp for young goalkeepers will have the Norwegian coach, that deals with psychological readiness, Karina Andersen Aas.

– All places in the camp are booked long-time ago. – says the first operative of the Camp, Mario Caljkusic.

– We had a lot of applications and inquiries throughout the whole year. Apart from the domestic goalkeepers which will be the most numerous, we’ll have a lot of guests from Turkey. Their interest is so big, that in future we can do a whole “shift” with just Turkish goalkeepers. Apart from them, we will also have boys and girls from Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Montenegro, BiH and France – quotes Caljkusic and let us know some of the participants:

– As one of the participants will be Peter Johanesson from Savehof. He has been chosen the best young goalkeeper in the world a month ago. Scandinavians have the will to learn something new about the handball schools here as well. As such, in the first year of the Camp, we had Appelgren, which is now one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga and MT Melsungen.

In the camp, the participants will be divided according to their age – three men groups and one women group. In total around 80 participants.

New things include training in the pool with Zoran Kacic, waterpolo coach for goalkeepers. An expert which has few books published in this field, will hold specific trainings with the young talents. Renco Prosinovic will have thematic lecture comparing waterpolo and handball goalkeepers.

The training part of the Camp (two trainings per day), will be held in Makarska, with the hall offering great conditions, and apart from that the participants will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Adriatic, as they will be housed in hotel “Alga” in Tucepa, practically on the beach itself.

Balkan-Handball will this year as well, as media partner, be reporting from the place of happening.
