PARIS 2024: Gidsel TOP scorer, Kuzmanovic has most saves

The group stage of the competition at the Olympic Games in Paris has ended, handball players are moving to Lille for the finals, and statistics reveal the best individuals of the first part of the tournament.

Mathias Gidsel is still undisputed on the list of scorers with 43 goals scored, eight more than compatriot Simon Pitlyk and Slovenian Aleks Vlah.

On the list of best assists, Kosuke Yasuhira leads with 36, ahead of Yahia Omar and Yuri Knorr with 35.

Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Kuzmanović is first in terms of number of saves. A new member of the German VFL Gummersbach, he got the trust of Dagur Sigurdsson in front of Matej Mandić and returned it with quality games. In five games, he collected a total of 56 saves, ten more than Gonzalo Perez de Vargas and 12 more than Vincent Gerrard.

Vargas has 14 saved sevens, and Kuzmanović has one less – 13, as well as the Swedish goalkeeper Tobias Thulin, who imposed himself in the strong competition of Andreas Palicka.
