A lot of tension brought last two matches of RK Vardar in which Macedonian champions beat two big rivals – Telekom Veszprem and Rhein Neckar Lowen. Both coaches of defeated teams, Ljubomir Vranjes and Nikolaj Jacobsen expressed their frustration because of referees’ level on their matches against EHF Champions League 2017 winners.

i watched the matches 2 times. both with veszprem and rnl. there were referees mistakes on both sides. there are always mistakes from the referees and there always will be. if a team is good enough to overcome these “normal mistakes” it can beat any opponent. about the last game of Vardar vs rnl, the german team had few missed 100% chances at the end, and few referees calls were made against Vardar that were not right. when bad calls were made against HC Vardar or any other “smaller” team in the past everyone just keeps quiet and now its a big deal. my opinion is that referees were good.

It’s pretty offensive to have such a loaded question in the poll. You have your own possibilities to investigate and discover the truth by reviewing the matches and create an analysis backed up with an expert view. Besides that, if you want to analyze the whole picture, we need to take into consideration the referee mistakes that also affected Vardar. Referee help, for two matches in a row, with different referees, for a club that did not enter the TOP 10 in EHF ranking this year ? Seems like much butt-hurt.
