Rikke Skov has decided to withdraw from the Danish national team, and will not play for the team at the World Championship in Brazil. The Viborg player, that so far had 122 caps and 344 goals scored, said that this was a very hard decision, but it had to be made, and she made it in advance so the national team can do the preparations without her, citing that at this moment it will be hard to combine club and national team career at the same time. Jan Pytlick described this as a major loss for the national team, and that there is no player of the same calibre which could replace her.
