Serbia celebrated two victories in the Preliminary Round at the Women’s EHF EURO 2012. This success is much bigger if we know the fact that Serbia lost all nine matches at three last European Championship since 2006. Last win was in the name of Serbia and Montenegro at EHF EURO 2004 in Hungary against Croatia. That is the reason why very few people believed in this Serbian generation led by Andrea Lekić, but as in every sport, support rise with the quality of performance.
First match against Norway in a huge “Kombank Arena” was followed by only 2.500 fans. Against Ukraine was 4.000 and last night Serbia – Czech Republic clash had the biggest crowd till now – about 6.000.
How many fans will be at the Main Round start against Sweden on Monday. Now, a lot of people know for the Championship and also the names of the players are even more and more in media after two good games.
