STRONG START OF THE SEASON: GRK Ohrid beat RK Eurofarm Pelister at the “Krste Andonovski” Final

After winning tournament in Struga, GRK Ohrid were the best in their own city as well! Under the roof of a packed “Biljanini Izvori” arena, they defeated Macedonian champion Eurofarm Pelister 31:26 (12:10) in the final of the fourth “Krste Andonovski” Memorial, and claimed the tournament trophy for the first time.
In an atmosphere rarely seen at preparation tournaments, the home team controlled the game and the score for almost the entire match and celebrated deservedly.
Ohrid played without Predrag Vejin, while Pelister was missing goalkeepers Mitrevski and Heidarirad, as well as captain Kuzmanovski.
Things started going the “Gladiators’” way in the middle of the first half when Bojan Blaževski took his place between the posts. Ante Ivanković and Lovro Jotić directed the attack excellently, while the goals and energy of Darko Djukić kept Ohrid in front.
The guests came within two goals in the closing stages but failed to stop any of Ohrid’s attacks until the end. With two fast-break goals in the last minute, the hosts made the triumph more convincing.
Darko Djukić was the most effective player of the winning team with six goals, followed by Lovro Jotić with four. On the other side, Dejan Manaskov scored seven.
Third place went to RK Nexe, who beat RK Vardar 28:26, fifth to RK Partizan, sixth to Trimo Trebnje, seventh to Dinamo Pančevo, and eighth to Kyndil (Faroe Islands).
