THEIR TIME IS COMING: A promising generation

The generation of 1992 world handball ended their youth career at the World Junior Championship, in Bosnia and Herzegovina last summer. Great talents and future world stars, without mistake, have paved their paths to the professional heights by playing excellent matches in their generation. So the big shots in the world handball of the generation of 1986 are still those guys who were dominant as youngsters – German Uwe Gensheimer, Croat Ivan Cupić, Danish master Mikkel Hansen, then a couple of Swedish goalkeepers Sjostrand – Palicka. They were replaced by the generation of 1988, which gave players who reached the stars, like Croat Domagoj Duvnjak, Danish giant Nikolaj Markussen and “octopus” Niklas Landin, as well as the French “animal” William Accambray. The list of the players born in 1990, could be opened by Icelander Aron Palmarsson, then the player of Serbian origin Petar Đorđić (HSV), Danish Rasmus Lauge Schmidt and dozens of other boys, whose careers are yet to be told like fairytales.
