THIRD WIN FOR DANISH CHAMPION: KIF Kolding Kobenhavn beat Wisla!

KIF Kolding won third game in Champions League, defeating Wisła Płock. Oilers, who in opinion of many people were favorites, played bad match and they left two points in Denmark. Kolding won by one goal 23:22.

Game started with better play of Kolding players, who after six minutes were leading 4:1. Wisła had problems in the attack, they were losing ball due to easy mistakes and ineffective throws. KIF used it by fast breaks, what let them keep lead. Oilers changed goalkeeper and on the court came Marcin Wichary, who made a difference. It helped his team to draw 9-9 in 22 minute. But quickly answered Bo Spellerberg and Albert Rocas (11-9, 24 min) and two-goals distance was kept by Kolding till the end of the first half (13:11).

After three minutes of second half Wisła managed to draw again, thanks to goals of Valentin Ghionea, Mariusz Jurkiewicz and Ivan Nikcević. However all the time guests were one goal behind. They had many good opportunities, but the goalkeeper of Kolding, Kasper Hvidt effectively prevented them.  In the last minutes Wisła still had chance to change the result, but due to mistakes and bad defense they lost.

Kolding was good, despite missing 4-5 players. The top team Wisla played with no tactic and no head what so ever. But Kolding was fantastic, even our coach was not there. He had an operation in his back and could not be there. Wisla with their “great coach” couldent do anything 🙂
