Miles of deserted sandy beaches and clear blue-green water will be the scene of the V Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships 2012, taking place in the Sultanate of Oman from 8 to 13 July.
In a meeting between the IHF Beach Handball Working Group (BHWG) and the Oman Handball Association at the Head Office in Basel on 23 February, date, status and upcoming workshops were discussed and agreed on.
Besides, the BHWG took advantage of their two-day reunion (23-24 February 2012) by going on with the preparations for the 2013 World Games in Colombia and the 2014 Beach Handball World Championships in Morocco and by looking back, analysing previous master referees/delegates and coaches courses, in order to develop and professionalise beach handball on all five continents. Part of this professionalising of beach handball is the production of a handbook, serving as a guide to the organizer at all future beach events.
