Vardar Pro wins the Macedonian Cup!

Vardar is the new winner of the Macedonian Cup after years of Metalurg domination. They won the cup with 26:23 in the final. As everyone expected, Vardar and Metalurg easily went past their semi-final rivals, beating them with 20+ goals each. The final scheduled today, saw yet another high-tension exciting game, especially following the incident few days ago when Vujovic physically attacked Cervar’s assistant, Petrovski.

In the half-full “Boris Trajkovski” arena, Vardar took an early advantage at the beginning of the game, but Metalurg immediately fought back, and even made a great comeback having 11-7 at one point in the game, thanks to great Naumce Mojsovski. Following a 4:0 run, Vardar equalized and being back in the game, the remainder of the first half saw goal-for-goal play. The first ten minutes of the second half saw even play, but then Metalurg speed up their play, and through Mirkulovski they make 19:16 in the 43rd minute, which prompts Vujovic to call a Vardar time-out. After the timeout the team manages to show better display, and the score is 20:20 in the 51th minute. Vardar don’t stop here, they take advantage of Metalurg’s misses, and takes a 22:20 lead. The lead is kept, and Vardar wins 26:23 in the end.
