The uncrowned queen of handball courts in the 21st century, Bojana Popović (34), decided to hang up her boots after the Olympic games in London 2012, with the intention of being a leading star and eternal inspiration to all the young sportsmen as a sports director, not only to handball players, and not only in Montenegro. Born in Nis, she paved her way wearing a jersey of her favourite, the Tobacco Industry in Nis, TIN at the time, without saying that after the battle everyone is a general, and at the end of the 90’s the media and expert’s predictions were unmistakably unanimous about one thing, that she was a great potential, a girl of great capabilities. From “Cair” to “Moraca” and golden days of Danish handball, through coming back to Montenegro handball and all the way to Olympic heights in London, Bojana’s mentality of a winner, knocked down all her opponents, with the standing ovations of the audience, showing that the connection of a talent and marvellous worker is a winning combination.
