Legendary THW Kiel coach Zvonimir Noka Serdarusic has been in Sarajevo during the Final weekend at Junior World Championship 2013. Handbal person who wrote one of the best chapter of handball history in almost two decades on the “Zebras” bench, shared his impression from the last tournament of generation 1992 for Balkan-Handball.com:
– Croatia has a few players, which are very interested for all the coaches. Every coach would like to see them in the squad. Much more than in Spanish squad, who isn’t the tallest and the most powerful one, but they were better in clash with Croatia. This small guy (Cacheda) destroyed them – commented Serdarusic semi-final match between Spain and Croatia. He added:
– I spoke with a few coaches. All of them have the same opinion. They would choose five players from Croatia and two from Spain. That means that Croatia has more quality, but Spain deserved to win.
Serdarusic was ths special guest of Bosnian Handball Federation during last few days in Sarajevo:
– I didn’t remember all the names, but I saw a few players who will be really good, for sure. I have seen some guys in Dutch team, which surprised me, also Swiss team surprised me. All the teams have one or two very talented players – said Noka.
Serdarusic, who spent almost whole career in Germany didn’t have too much positive to say about French team, who beat Germans at TOP 16:
– Typically for France, junior play as “A” squad. That is for me the ugliest handball, but they manage win Olympic Games or World Championship at the end. Here was the same. They have played the ugliest handball, tehnically and tactically poor, but they have good individuals and situation is the same in the last 15 years. Nothing has changed. It’s shame to watch what they playing, but tomorrow all the players will play in the first French League. Almost no one from German team will play in 1. Bundesliga. That’s the main difference.
Serdarusic is out of handball since 2010, when he was Slovenian head-coach at Men’s EHF EURO 2010 in Austria. His health is good now…
– I am ok, long time without handball. I wish to work again, but it’s better to seat at home than to take whatever. There were no interesting offer until now.

– Match will be played on August 15. Karabatic, Lovgren, Jacobsen, Peterson, all of them will be there. I will spend a few days in Kiel, then in Hamburg. After that I am coming back to Mostar – concluded Serdarusic for Balkan-Handball.com

He also didnt develop much the last 20 years. Handball need new faces, not the old Military coaches.
