Bjerringbro-Silkeborg coach extends his contract in front of key game

Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen stays in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg until 2019 and he believes that his team can make an upset at home against Wisla Plock on Sunday.

Last season Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen led Bjerringbro-Silkeborg to their first title in the club history, when they won the Danish Championship. The season Bjerringbro-Silkeborg has impressed in the VELUX EHF Champions League with a win in Schaffhausen and now the successful coach has extended his contract until 2019. Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen joined Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in 2014 and since then he has built up a completely new team.

– I have had some exiting seasons in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, where we have succeeded in recruiting a strong team both on and of the pitch. The things here are working at a high level and that was the reason why, we won the Danish Championship last season.

– For me, it was a simple choice to stay and work with these people and continue the progress we have made so fare. It is a pleasure for me to work with such skilled players every day and my passion is to contribute to the progress of the individual and the team, said Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen about his reasons to stay in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg.

Next job for Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen and his Bjerringbro-Silkeborg team is the game in the VELUX EHF Champions League on Sunday against Wisla Plock. In Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, they have a dream about reaching the Last 16 and a win against one of the opponent to the sixth place in the group will make the dream come a bit closer.

– There is no doubt that the game on Sunday is one of our greater opportunities to create an upset. It would be a surprise if we can beat Plock and our job is to play at our top level but if we do that, we have a realistic chance.

– On Sunday, we can put some real belief into our dream of reaching the Last 16, told Bredsdorff-Larsen.

Last week Wisla Plock draw at home against mighty Veszprem, and this year they want to finish higher than sixth in the group in order to have a better chance of reaching the quarterfinals. Bjerringbro-Silkeborg knows what kind of a challenge they face in the hunt for the upset of reaching the Last 16 and Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen sees a difficult match on Sunday.

– Wisla Plock is a European top team and we take it as a compliment that people think we can compete with them. They have serval of international profiles with experience from matches in the VELUX EHF Champions League and with the national team.

Throw off between Bjerringbro-Silkeborg and Wisla Plock is Sunday at 16.50 in JYSK Arena in Silkeborg. The game will be live on DR1 Denmark and EHFTV.com.
