Legendary Slovenian playmaker Uros Zorman talked with Zika Bogdanovic in podcast #stayathome of Balkan-Handball.com, about his time in BM Ciudad Real, the Spanish team who won three EHF Champions League trophies between 2006 and 2009.
- I don’t like to speak a lot about history, this is not my way of thinking and lifestyle. Ciudad Real was the best time, maybe even all-time. Such a group of 17,18 players, I think that can’t happen again. As a players, but also humans, I can say everything only in superlative. It was amazing feeling to be a part of that team. If you got a hit in attack, your defensive team-mates will take a revenge immediately. We have been the best in everything, as Talant already said. The moto was “Live as a champion, play as a champion, eat as a champion, fight, party as a champion, everything on 100%” – said Zorman and added:
- When you see Sterbik, you think that he is bored, but when he stay between the posts. As a member of Ciudad Real you had that feeling you can’t lose whatever is happening on the court. It was a beautiful story. It is said what happened with the club, but it was unrealistic to exist on such a level…”
