Obradovic calls for EHF EURO 2020 postponing

Head-coach of the Serbian national team Ljubomir Obradovic has called for postponing of the upcoming Women’s EHF EURO 2020 due current situation with COVID-19 pandemic.

  • This kind of situation has never happened before and hopefully this won’t happen in the future. We should start with final preparation, for the first time 12 months after World Championship in Japan. Girls have two more matches in their teams, and it is always reason to be worried beside COVID-19 situation. We won’t have Dragana Cvijic in the squad, she should go on surgery. We have two mothers in the team,Krpez began to playing Rostov, I should speak also with Tamara Radojevic. Hopefully, we will stay healthy in terms of sport, and then testing starts, when you don’t know what to expect. In the past, European Championships have been played in June. In Norway, that couldn’t be called “European Championship”. I am for a solution to postpone tournament for March, April, maybe June. It’s though in the moment, countries closing countries, flights are canceling. At the end, we have to wait and see what will happen – said Obradovic.

Serbia ended 6th at World Championship 2019 in Japan.
