Timo Kastening to stay at MT Melsungen until 2029
MT Melsungen Captain Timo Kastening has extended his contract until June 2029. The 30-year-old right wing, whose deal was set to expire next summer, has added three more seasons and will continue leading the team.
MT sporting director Michael Allendorf highlighted not only Kastening’s qualities on the court but also his importance for team spirit and unity: “He perfectly embodies the captain’s role and is a big reason why the team has grown together.”
Kastening joined Melsungen in 2020 from Hannover-Burgdorf and has since become the face of the club. Fans appreciate his identification with the team, making the extension an easy decision.
The player himself summed it up simply: “It just fits.” He values the squad, the club’s ambitions, the supportive environment, and also feels at home in the Kassel region, while being close to his family in Hannover.
