Aalborg Håndbold keeps Arnoldsen until 2029

The explosive Danish national team player has signed a new contract that will keep him at Aalborg Håndbold until the summer of 2029.
The 23-year-old Thomas Arnoldsen joined Aalborg Håndbold in the summer of 2023 from Skanderborg-AGF Håndbold and has since developed into one of the world’s best backcourt players.
In his first season, he helped Aalborg win the Danish championship and reach the EHF Champions League final, while the 2024/25 season brought both a cup title and another domestic championship. With the Danish national team, he has also won Olympic and World Championship gold.
“Thomas has developed into one of the biggest profiles in Danish and European handball. With his uncompromising and physical playing style, he has repeatedly demonstrated his great value – both as a scorer and playmaker, and defensively he’s a handful for most opponents,” said team manager Martin Larsen.
“With his huge engine, he’s the driving force behind much of what we do on the court, so when the opportunity arose to add another year to the existing deal, there was no hesitation on our part,” Larsen added.
For Thomas Arnoldsen, the decision also came easily:
“I’m extremely happy to be at Aalborg Håndbold, where I’ve been welcomed from day one and where I feel completely at home. At the same time, we have an incredibly strong squad that I consider one of the best club teams in the world, and the conditions and facilities in the club are top-class. So it was a no-brainer for me to sign the extension,” said Arnoldsen, who before Saturday’s home game against Fredericia HK in the Bambuni Men’s League has recorded 85 matches and 463 goals for Aalborg Håndbold.
