Momir Ilić Tips Marko Grgić as Handball’s Next Global Superstar

Momir Ilić, the MVP of the 2012 European Championship and a top-five all-time scorer in the EHF Champions League, who began his coaching career with roles at Veszprém and Wetzlar, shared his view on the player he believes will dominate world handball in the coming years in the Balkan-Handball.com podcast hosted by Žika Bogdanović.
“I would single out Marko Grgić. Even though he isn’t someone who’s dominating at this championship, he’s still finding his way. He’s playing phenomenally for Flensburg, and last season he was the Bundesliga’s top scorer. Why do I like him? He has incredibly good decision-making and mental stability. Along with his physical attributes, he has the mentality and the quality to become an exceptional left back, on the level of Nikola Karabatić. He’s someone with the X-factor and one day can be the best player in the world,” Momir Ilić said.
Marko Grgic is 22-years old German NT left back. NT coach Alfred Gislason called his to Olympic squad in Paris 2024 for the first time.
