Double world champion returns home to Skjern Håndbold

After eight years in Europe’s top handball with Füchse Berlin and Paris Saint-Germain, 30-year-old Jacob Holm is returning home to Skjern.
The two-time world champion has signed a four-year contract with the men in green.
“It is my biggest goal and dream that together we can create something great at Skjern Håndbold. I will work my hardest for that every single day. I’ve had some incredibly good years in both Paris and Berlin, and of course it feels bittersweet to close that chapter.
But the timing is right for us as a family to move back to Denmark, and Skjern Håndbold was the club and the project that motivated me the most. I feel I’m at the best age for handball, and I’m looking forward to giving everything for the club,” says Jacob Holm, who played youth handball at Skjern Håndbold alongside his time at Dejbjerglund Efterskole.
“I look back on my time at Skjern Håndbold as something very positive, and I also grew up driving to Skjern to watch league handball. That’s why it will be a little extra special to have Skjern Bank Arena as my home court for the next four years. I’m incredibly excited about that,” says Jacob Holm, who is currently in his third season at Paris Saint-Germain.
Sporting director Thomas Klitgaard says:
“Jacob is a player who has performed at the very highest international level for many years. This isn’t just a sporting reinforcement — it’s also a signal of our ambitions at Skjern Håndbold. He brings experience from the biggest arenas, and that’s the type of profile we want to build the future of Skjern Håndbold around.
We are proud that Jacob has chosen Skjern Håndbold as the project he believes in the most — and we are convinced he will be a standout figure in the seasons to come,” says sporting director Thomas Klitgaard.
Jacob Holm will wear shirt number 5 and will join the club this summer.
