Bravo, Ana! Gros Reaches 1,000 EHF Champions League Goals

Last weekend brought a historic milestone in the EHF Women’s Champions League.
The brilliant Slovenian international right back Ana Gros became the fifth woman to score 1,000+ goals in the competition’s top tier.
She needed seven goals to reach the magical number — and she scored exactly seven in Brest’s 37:25 win in Ljubljana against Krim, where she also helped Tamara Mavsar score the final goal of her professional career in an unforgettable way.
With that achievement, Ana joined an elite group made up of Cristina Neagu (ROU / 1,232 goals), Jovanka Radičević (MNE / 1,181), Andrea Lekić (SRB / 1,073) and Anita Görbicz (HUN / 1,016).
Since Gros has announced she will retire at the end of the season, it’s clear she could still move up to fourth place, putting the legendary Anita Görbicz’s mark under threat.
