Thierry Anti is new Tunisian NT coach

The Tunisian Handball Federation has appointed French coach Thierry Anti as the new head coach of the senior men’s national team. The contract will take effect on April 1 and will run until March 31, 2028, a period during which Tunisia will also compete at the 2027 World Championship and the 2028 African Championship.

Anti succeeds Mohamed Ali Sghir, who led the national team to the silver medal at the 2026 African Championship in Rwanda, where Tunisia lost to Egypt in the final.

The French coach has enjoyed a rich club career, having worked with several European clubs, including Pontault-Combault, Créteil, Paris, Lisbon, Aix, and Nantes. With some of those teams, he also managed to reach the final stages of European competitions.

Interestingly, this will be his first appointment as a national team head coach. Alongside this role, Anti will also be part of the coaching staff of French club Chartres for the 2026/27 season, combining the two positions.
